MALLORYTOWN – A section of the westbound lanes of Highway 401 were shut down Wednesday night after a multi-vehicle crash.
The collision involving a number of tractor trailers happened around 3:45 p.m.
Pictures from the scene show at least one truck in the north ditch and a couple of trucks in the median near the Mallorytown exit (County Road 5).
It’s not known what sort of goods were on the trucks.
Environment Canada had issued a winter weather travel advisory around the time of the crash.
The weather agency had been calling for sudden bursts of snow causing limited visibility.
Gananoque police tweeted that the reopening time for the westbound Highway 401 between Joyceville Road and Highway 15 was unknown.
The eastbound lanes were unaffected.
