ATHENS – Provincial police have released the identity of a local man killed Friday night in a two vehicle crash on County Road 5.
Leeds County O.P.P. say 31-year-old Ryan Healey was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the collision on a stretch of the county road in Athens Township just before 6 p.m.
Healey was the only occupant in the vehicle.
The other driver was taken to hospital by paramedics and was last reported to be suffering from minor injuries, Leeds County O.P.P. said.
Ryan leaves behind a wife and three daughters.
There’s been an outpouring of condolences for the Burnbrae Farms employee, firefighter with the Elizabethtown-Kitley Fire Department and family man.
“Ryan was an active volunteer in the installation of our indoor facility. The thoughts of your track and field family are with you during this difficult time,” read a Facebook post, in part, from the Brockville Legion Track and Field Club. One of his daughters, Taylor, was a member.
As of late Saturday night, O.P.P. Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI) were still working on the investigation.
