Brockville woman taken for $2,000 after bank card stolen

BROCKVILLE – Police are going through security footage after a woman had her bank card stolen and it used to withdraw over $2,000 from her account.

City police say the 30-year-old victim called them yesterday (Monday) afternoon after she noticed her bank card had been pinched from her purse after visiting the local Bank of Montreal branch.

She also learned there had been 10 unauthorized withdrawals from her account.

Investigators are working with the bank branch on Wall Street to recover security footage and try to identify the person responsible.
