Seeley’s Bay man sentenced for child pornography

SEELEY’S BAY/BROCKVILLE – A Seeley’s Bay man has been sentenced to one year in jail for possession of child pornography.

Peter Mark Pettem, 52, was sentenced in a Brockville court Friday (July 14) after pleading guilty to one count of possession of child pornography.

A second possession charge was withdrawn by the Crown.

In addition to his jail sentence, Pettem is banned for 10 years from visiting parks or other areas where children under the age of 16 frequent.

He will also be on the Sexual Offender Information Registry (SOIRA) for 10 years.

After his one year sentence, Pettem will be on probation for three years.
