Charge laid in double-fatal near Gananoque

GANANOQUE – A driver involved in a head-on crash in February, which killed two people, has been charged with careless driving.

Leeds County O.P.P. announced Tuesday, 59-year-old Maria Glenn of Gananoque was charged under the Highway Traffic Act.

She will be appearing Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 9 a.m. for her first appearance in Brockville Provincial Offences Act court.

Fifty-eight-year-old Ronald Bolton of Cornwall and his passenger, 85-year-old Wilfred Bolton of Frontenac Islands, died Feb. 10 when their car collided with a pickup truck on County Road 2.

A charge of careless driving is the most serious non-criminal charge, which carries a fine of $400 to $2,000, a licence suspension up to two years and up to six months in jail.
