BROCKVILLE – The former treasurer of the Prescott-based Leeds and Grenville Insurance Brokers has been given a house arrest sentence and ordered to make restitution.

During a court appearance Monday (May 1), Robin Van Luit, 46, of Prescott was given an 18-month conditional sentence, followed by three years probation.

She had pleaded guilty on Feb. 23,2016 to forgery and fraud over $5,000.

An additional charge of theft over $5,000 was withdrawn by the Crown, following the sentence.
