Quebec Amber Alert suspect spotted in Eastern Ontario

Update: 5:30 p.m.: The subjects of the Amber Alert have been found safe and sound, according to the Ottawa Police Service.

EASTERN ONTARIO – Quebec provincial police have issued an Amber Alert in their province for a woman and child, who were spotted in Eastern Ontario.

Surete du Quebec believe Joel Mukonkole, 4, was abducted from the Saint-Jerome area, about 60 kilometers northwest of Montreal.

The suspect is Rachel Esema-Okako, 31, who was last seen driving a Red four-door Pontiac Vibe with Quebec licence plate 270-XLX.

Joel is black with short black hair and brown eyes. Rachel is also black with long brown hair and brown eyes.

East Region O.P.P. say they were last spotted in the Ottawa suburb of Kanata, Ont.
