Over $200K for Leeds-Grenville festivals and events

BROCKVILLE – A half dozen festivals and events across Leeds-Grenville have received a total of $205,000.
The biggest share of that pie is going to the Kemptville Live Music Festival (July 22-24) which is getting $100,000.
The next is Brockville’s Rails to Trails Festival (Aug. 10-13) in August, which is receiving $50,000.
The other recipients are the 1000 Islands Nickel Cup in Gananoque (June 3-4) with $3,450, Kemptville Ribfest (June 16-18) with $6,650, Brockville’s 1000 Islands Regatta (June 30-July 3) with $34,213 and Loyalist Days in Prescott (Aug. 17-20) with $10,839.
The money is coming from the Celebrate Ontario program under the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
“We’re so fortunate to have hard-working volunteers in every corner of the riding organizing a wide variety of amazing festivals and special events,” MPP Steve Clark said.
“These activities are not only an important part of life in our towns and villages, but provide a real boost to our local tourism economy. They give people from across Canada and around the world a reason to come and visit our communities throughout the year.”
