LANSDOWNE – A university professor has won just over $54,000 on a lottery ticket.

Leslie Ritchie matched five numbers, plus the bonus number, during the Jan. 25, 2017 drawing of Lotto 6/49.

The ticket, which was bought at the Shoppers Drug Mart on King Street in Gananoque, was good for $54,390.40.

The married mother of two was stunned by the win. “The first thing I did was share the good news with my husband and he was excited. It all felt surreal,” she said.

She told lottery officials that she’s planning a family trip to the Bahamas.
