KEMPTVILLE – The province’s police watchdog has been called in after something went wrong following an arrest of a female in North Grenville nearly a week-and-a-half ago.
Grenville County O.P.P. officers had placed the person under arrest at a River Road home around 12:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016.
While they were being taken to the detachment “there was an interaction” of some sort, which injured the accused and the officer, O.P.P. Sgt. Angie Atkinson said.
Atkinson said the O.P.P. is not providing any further information, deferring questions to the Ontario Special Investigations Unit (SIU).
A spokesman for the SIU was not available for comment.
Update: 1:30 p.m. Friday: SIU releases more information on North Grenville arrest
