BROCKVILLE – Upset about your Hydro One bill?

You will have a chance in three weeks to air your concerns directly with the Hydro One ombudsman.

Local MPP Steve Clark is hosting the two public meetings with Fiona Crean on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016. The meetings are being facilitated by North Grenville Mayor David Gordon and the Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce.

The first is at the Brockville Arts Center from 2-4 p.m. and then at the North Grenville Municipal Center from 6-8 p.m.

Clark said hydro bills are the “number one issue that I hear about in my constituency” so he wanted the ombudsman to hear the concerns first hand.

“We also continue to hear from those who are having problems with inaccurate, inconsistent billing and from businesses being charged outrageous deposit fees,” Clark said.

Through the partial privatization of Hydro One, the government removed the utility from the oversight of the Ontario Ombudsman’s office.

In its place, the government created the utility ombudsman last year.

The meetings will include a presentation by Crean.
