Burn ban in St. Lawrence Park, islands

BROCKVILLE – For the second time this season – almost a month to the day – the city fire department has instituted a burning ban at St. Lawrence Park and all city-owned islands.

The ban is effective today (Aug. 4) and is in place until further notice.

There are 16 developed Brockville Islands, from South Twin Island in the west to McNair and Murray Islands in the east of the river.

The last time the burn ban was in place was July 7 and it lasted four days.
