Vehicle struck by train in Brockville

BROCKVILLE ā€“ A driver from the Brockville area escaped injury after her vehicle was struck by a train late Tuesday night.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. at a crossing on California Avenue near the Proctor and Gamble plant.

The crossing is used by the plant and doesn’t have light or traffic arm barriers.

In the dark and with no signals, the 18-year-old driver didn’t notice the moving train, police said.

The vehicle has moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

There were no injuries and police said no charges will be laid.
