BROCKVILLE – As celebrations start to wind up, outspoken MPP Cheri DiNovo will be visiting here today (Friday) as part of Brockville Pride festivities.
Described by Pride volunteer and city councillor Leigh Bursey as “fiercely original and incredibly outspoken,” DiNovo will be visiting the Sleepless Money on King Street at 1 p.m.
“The Toronto MPP has both inspired and orchestrated a whole lot of progressive change for gender equity, and has recently put her name forward to run for leadership of the federal NDP,” Bursey said.
Pride Week in Brockville has included a number of activities including a pot luck supper, a pub night and rainbow bowling.
The event will be capped off tomorrow (Saturday) with the parade at noon along King Street followed by a festival in Hardy Park.
