BROCKVILLE – A middle-aged woman is being treated at Brockville General Hospital after a bomb threat on a Via Rail passenger train.

City police officers were at the railway station on Perth Street Thursday night to remove a 50-year-old woman from the train, which was coming from Montreal.

Brockville police say a passenger on the train had told other passengers there was a bomb on board.

After speaking with the woman, officers believed the threat wasn’t genuine and that she was suffering from mental health issues.

She was taken to BGH for appropriate care.
