BROCKVILLE – It wasn’t just traffic that was buzzing up and down Parkedale Avenue this past weekend.

City police started getting phone calls on Saturday afternoon (June 18) as a swarm of bees decided to gather at a sign in the median near the intersection of Parkedale and Stewart.

Sgt. Andrew Harvie says a local beekeeper was called by a passing motorist who helped out Brockville police officers.

Police blocked traffic while the beekeeper, Peter, scooped up the queen.

After that, the rest of the bees flew away.
