BROCKVILLE ā€“ Police are trying to track down an SUV or possibly a van that sideswiped a motorcycle on Stewart Boulevard Thursday.

Brockville police say a woman on the bike had left the Brockville Shopping Center parking lot around 4:30 p.m. and was heading north when she was hit, sending her bike spinning across the roadway.

Other motorists stopped to help the woman to her feet.

The vehicle fled north on Stewart Boulevard and was last seen going over the Highway 401 overpass.

Investigators say the SUV or van is silver or grey.

One distinct feature is a palm-sized sticker of a round flower on the top right section of the licence plate.

It also may have blue or white paint and scratches on the right side from brushing up against the bike.

Police are treating the case as a hit-and-run and would like to speak to anybody who may have witnessed the collision, know the vehicle or driver or stopped to help out the biker.

You can reach Brockville police Sgt. Keith Fleury at 613-342-0127 extension 6046.
