Dogs seized from Eastern Ontario property

TORONTO – The Ontario SCPA says it has seized 33 dogs from an undisclosed location in Eastern Ontario.

The dogs are mostly toy breeds, including Yorkshire Terriers and Pomeranians, which were in various states of distress.

The dogs had been checked by a veterinarian after a case was opened in April, following complaints.

The investigation is being led by the Ontario SPCA Major Case Management Team.

Inspector Brad Dewer told CBC News they are still in the early stages of the investigation and declined to disclose the community where the dogs were seized or whether it was a breeder.
