IROQUOIS – Beach goers looking to cool off this week will have to look somewhere else than Iroquois Beach.

The waterfront recreational area has been posted as of Thursday afternoon by the Eastern Ontario Health Unit, according to the township.

The no swimming advisory is in effect until further notice.

Beaches are usually posted due to higher than acceptable levels of E. coli bacteria.

The Eastern Ontario Health Unit monitors 15 beaches in Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry and Prescott-Russell, according to its website.
