North Grenville sets up credit card payment for taxes, utilities

KEMPTVILLE – The Municipality of North Grenville is now allowing residents to pay their taxes and utilities online by credit card.

The move comes after “consistent requests” for the option when it comes time to pay a municipal bill.

Residents and property owners will also be able to register online to see their payment history and past due or upcoming payments.

In order to avoid the hefty processing fees associated with credit cards, North Grenville has contracted a third party, Paymentus Corporation, who will charge a 1.75 per cent service fee for every bill payment.

The money will cover the processing fees for the credit card option.

There are still other options for paying your bill, including at the municipal office, paying at your local bank, telephone or online banking or mailing or dropping off a cheque.

The credit card payment option will be available for the June tax and utility installments.
