Chimo cheers to first place

BROCKVILLE – A cheerleading squad from Chimo Elementary School has taken first place at the Upper Canada District School Board Cheer Competition.

Chimo’s squad competed in the senior division and earned a score of 82.33 during the event on Wednesday (May 18) at BCI.

They beat Gananoque Intermediate and Secondary School (GISS) by .33 per cent.

Thousand Islands Secondary School (TISS) took third place in the senior category.

In the junior category, Lyn Public School took first place while GISS and Commonwealth Public tied for second.

Six schools participated in the competition.
