LOMBARDY – Randy Hodgins says he’s won small lottery prizes before “but nothing with a comma in it.”

The Lombardy man won $100,000 after matching six of the seven Encore numbers on his May 6, 2016 Lotto Max ticket.

“I looked up my numbers on the OLG website. My Encore selection had six of the seven winning numbers so I asked my wife to double check. My wife shouted, ‘Baloney’ or something like that. I just sat there. It was surreal!” he said.

He confirmed the winning the next day after taking his ticket to the kiosk while getting groceries.

“My wife hasn’t slept a wink since we found out we won. I have been sleeping like a baby knowing this money will pad my retirement,” Hodgins said.

The retired pilot and his wife plan to do some winter travelling. “A European river cruise, if you ask my wife.”

But the father and grandfather says the win is more about sharing with his children and grandchildren.

The winning ticket was bought at the Mac’s Milk on Main Street in Smiths Falls.
