Money makes music at North Grenville school

KEMPTVILLE – Ten thousand dollars is music to the ears for students at North Grenville District High School.

The school received the $10,000 Band Aid grant this month through the Canadian Academy of Recording Artists and Sciences MusiCounts program.

Music teacher Heather Lance says the money was used to buy new instruments and repair 39 others.

Those new instruments include ten African drum sets, a xylophone, two flutes and a pair of clarinets.

The repairs will cost $4,000.

Roughly 270 students at NGDHS are involved in the music program.
