Drunk driver caught leaving Brockville liquor store

BROCKVILLE – Some attentive staff are credited with catching a drunk driver leaving – of all places – the liquor store.

Brockville police say LCBO staff at the Parkedale Avenue location called them yesterday (April 7) afternoon as they were concerned whether a woman in the store should be driving.

With a licence plate number provided, police were able to trace the vehicle to a home east of the city and caught up with the driver on Concession 2 Road.

A 56-year-old woman was arrested and charged with impaired driving and driving while over the legal limit.

Police say she breath samples show she was roughly three times over the legal limit.

In addition to an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and her car impounded for a week, the woman has a future court date.
