BROCKVILLE – A motorcycle rider was arrested after racing down Highway 401 from the Brockville area.

Leeds County O.P.P. received numerous reports of the driver riding the white line, splitting lanes and passing on the paved shoulder during heavy Easter Monday traffic.

Const. Sandra Barr told Brockville Newswatch speeds were clocked in excess of 160 kilometers an hour as the red Honda motorcycle zipped through traffic.

The motorcyclist was picked up north of Belleville, Ont. – over 160 kilometers away – after he ditched the bike and officers had to chase him down to make the arrest.

A 19-year-old from Brantford, Ont. is facing numerous charges including two counts of dangerous driving for his performance in Leeds County.
