LOMBARDY – Provincial police are warning residents in Rideau Lakes Township to be careful with their mail after several mailboxes were damaged.
Police were told Saturday afternoon (March 26) about several mailboxes that were damaged on Bay Road, near Lombardy.
Officers weren’t able to pinpoint when it happened, saying the vandalism likely occurred over the past couple nights.
While none of the mail went missing, Leeds County O.P.P. are cautioning area residents to protect themselves against mail theft and to protect their identity.
That includes picking up your mail right away, as soon as it’s delivered, notifying Canada Post to hold your mail if you’re going to be away for a long period of time and to contact a company if a bill you’ve been expecting doesn’t arrive.
