Police officer burned putting out Brockville grease fire

BROCKVILLE – A city police officer was treated for minor burns Tuesday night after putting out a grease fire on Pearl Street.

Brockville police say their officers were flagged down by residents on Pearl Street East just before 5 p.m. yesterday (March 22) after a fire had started in a kitchen.

Officers were able to beat down the flames but one of them suffered a flash burn.

Leeds-Grenville paramedics treated the officer at the scene.

Damage was contained to the kitchen area.
