BROCKVILLE – A pickup truck driver has suffered life-threatening injuries after a crash on Highway 401 late Monday night.
Leeds County O.P.P. say a pickup truck, hauling a trailer, was passing a tractor trailer, which was merging on the westbound lanes of the highway at North Augusta Road around 11:30 p.m.
That’s when the pickup – driven by a 39-year-old man from Orillia, Ont. – lost control and left the road.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle.
He was taken to hospital in Kingston and was last reported to be in grave condition.
The westbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed for a police investigation but one lane has reopened as of 10:30 a.m.
