BROCKVILLE – Something big is coming from Texas – in the form of a winter storm.
Environment Canada upgraded its winter storm watch to a winter storm warning around 3 p.m. Monday afternoon for Leeds-Grenville as a system develops in the state, which is approaching the Great Lakes and Eastern Ontario.
Forecasters are still trying to track the storm’s path, but it’s believed it will dump anywhere from 20 to 40 centimeters (8 to 15 inches) of snow, in addition to freezing rain.
It’s expected to arrive sometime early Tuesday morning and “linger” in the area much of the day, the weather agency said.
As with any major storm, it’s expected that travel conditions will get bad and visibility will be reduced when driving.
