Hydro poles broken in hit-and-run

(Newswatch Group/Bill Kingston, File)

BROCKVILLE – Provincial police are trying to track down a pickup truck that took off after smashing into the supports for two hydro poles Saturday.

It happened sometime in the morning on Kitley Line 2 in Elizabethtown-Kitley Township but the discovery wasn’t made until just before noon that day.

Leeds County O.P.P. believe a older-model, green Ford pickup connected with the support wire for the posts, causing the poles to break in half.

Police believe the truck will have considerable damage to the front end passenger side.

If you have any information you’re asked to call O.P.P. at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
