PRESCOTT – Provincial police said Thursday they have identified two suspects involved in a series of gas thefts in Grenville County.

It came a day after Grenville County O.P.P. released grainy images from security footage, after gas bars in Prescott and Kemptville were targeted Jan. 30 and Feb. 2 respectively.

A man in the images is wanted for the thefts in Kemptville and Prescott while the woman wanted for the Prescott theft.

The suspect vehicle involved in the thefts was pursued by police and a cruiser and officer were hit during the chase when ended in an alley off Edward Street.

The officer was sightly hurt and the cruiser has minimal damage.

While they are still hunting down the perpetrators, police believe the man hangs out in the Ottawa, Kemptville and Prescott areas.

Police say they won’t be releasing any more information until their investigation is done.
