PRESCOTT – Provincial police have corrected details released in a two vehicle crash on Saturday night on County Road 2, which took the life of a 10-year-old boy.
Grenville County O.P.P., paramedics, and firefighters from Augusta Township and Prescott were called around 6 p.m. after a Toyota Prius collided head-on with a Ford F-150 pickup truck.
O.P.P. investigators had said both vehicles were negotiating a curve on a hill, east of Bradley Crescent, when the westbound Prius crossed the center line.
But late Monday morning, O.P.P. Sgt. Kristine Rae corrected that information saying the cause of the crash has not been determined.
The driver of the Prius – a 47-year-old man from Augusta Township – and the 10-year-old boy were taken to hospital by ambulance with life-threatening injuries.
The boy – Dasan Kota Munro of Augusta Township – was later transferred to another hospital were he died of his injuries.
The driver of the pickup – a 55-year-old man from North Grenville – was treated and released from hospital.
Local O.P.P. are asking anyone who may have witnessed the events to come forward.
