Upper Canada school board reaches deal with professional staff

BROCKVILLE – The Upper Canada District School Board has reached a tentative agreement with the union representing professional student services personnel.

The deal was reached Nov. 27 with the union representing 50 members.

They include student support partners, autism therapists, speech language pathologists, psychological associating and special service counsellors.

Terms of the agreement are confidential until both sides ratify the agreement, a board spokesman said.

The union will have votes Dec. 9 and Dec.10 while the board will vote Dec. 9.

The Upper Canada board still needs to close deals with its elementary teachers and support staff.
