BROCKVILLE – Hundreds of people, bundled up against a chilly breeze, lined the downtown streets of the city Saturday for Christmas with a touch of funny.

It was “Clowning Around Christmas – Let’s Have Fun” as the theme for the Rotary Clubs of Brockville and the 1000 Islands Santa Claus Parade.

It was the first Santa Claus Parade for Cole Martin, 3, of Brockville and he could hardly control his excitement, dancing to the music and also being invited on a ride with some clowns.

For Arabel Major, 5, from North Augusta, it was a chance to wave to the big man in red — Santa Claus!

Arabel told Brockville Newswatch she had been a good girl and had been to “all of them” when asked about how many parades she attended.

The parade started at North Augusta Road and snaked down Pearl Street to Park Street and on to King Street to Gilmore Street.
