KEMPTVILLE – Provincial police have been able to recover a stolen Hydro One truck and a woman from Ottawa has been arrested in the process.

The Hydro One Ford Explorer was taken from the company’s compound on County Road 44 sometime before workers noticed it was gone Tuesday morning.

During their investigation, police found evidence that suggests the thief was trying to cover their tracks by dropping an already-stolen truck.

A white Ford F-150 pickup along with some personal property, taken around 4 a.m. Tuesday from an Elizabethtown-Kitley Township home, was dumped at the Hydro One compound.

Peel Regional Police Service arrested a 28-year-old woman from Ottawa last night (Wednesday) and charged her with two counts of theft of a motor vehicle and theft under $5,000.

The Hydro One vehicle was found in Ottawa.

The accused made a court appearance in Brockville today (Nov. 12).
