Home invasion in Westport

WESTPORT – A violent home invasion here has provincial police looking for a suspect.

Leeds County O.P.P. say a woman broke into a home in the village around 10:30 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 29) and assaulted the homeowner before taking some money.

The suspect fled the scene on foot.

The victim was hurt slightly but didn’t require medical treatment, said police.

Police are looking for a white woman in her mid- to late-twenties, 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-6, 120-140 pounds with a medium build and shoulder-length black hair.

She was last seen wearing a puffy, black vinyl or leather coat, blue jeans and was carrying a cell phone with a lime green case.

The suspect may also have an injury to the top of her head or her forehead.
