Brockville LTC home will receive nurse practitioner this fall

BROCKVILLE – A city long term care home will be receiving at least one new nurse practitioner as part of a provincial announcement.
St. Lawrence Lodge Home for the Aged at 1803 County Road 2 (across the road from the Brockville Mental Health Center) was among the homes listed to receive an NP.
The provincial deal is adding 75 new attending nurse practitioners to the field over three years; 30 are starting this fall.
Nurse practitioners have a variety of functions from assessments and screenings to end-of-life care.
According to the province, the number of nurse practitioners in Ontario has increased to 2,209 in 2014, up seven per cent from the year before.
