BROCKVILLE – Taking a step toward a future without kidney failure.
That’s the goal Sunday as many, including transplant recipients and donor families, walk from the Hardy Park Bandshell on Water Street as part of the Kidney Walk.
It’s one of similar walks across Ontario.
The Kidney Foundation of Canada says roughly 1 in 10 Canadians is living with kidney disease and roughly 1,000 are waiting for a transplant.
The walk starts at 11 a.m. with registration starting an hour before.
The provincial goal for the Kidney Walk is $850,000.
