Man nabbed at U.S. border with child pornography

LANSDOWNE – A man from the United States is facing child pornography-related charges after an inspection at the border crossing at the Port of Lansdowne.

O.P.P. say members of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) searched a man entering Canada on Monday (Aug. 31) and allegedly found child sexual abuse material.

Investigators with the O.P.P. Child Sexual Exploitation Unit unearthed the material after a hand-held cellular device was seized by border agents and Leeds County O.P.P.

A 51-year-old man from Douglasville, Georgia is charged with one count of importing child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

He is also facing three Customs Act-related charges.

The accused was held and was scheduled for a bail hearing today (Sept. 3) in Brockville.
