PRESCOTT – A woman passenger in a sport utility vehicle was killed Wednesday afternoon in a single vehicle crash on Highway 401.
Grenville County O.P.P. said an eastbound Honda CRV lost control near the Blue Church Road overpass and drove into the median before rolling several times, landing on its roof.
The single vehicle crash happened around 2:30 p.m.
The man driving the vehicle and a woman passenger, 68, were taken to hospital and are listed in serious condition.
Another woman passenger in the vehicle, 37, died from her injuries.
Police said all three occupants of the vehicle were from East Quogue, N.Y. – a hamlet on the eastern shore of Long Island, N.Y.
The eastbound lanes of Highway 401 from Maitland to Prescott were closed for several hours Wednesday afternoon but have since reopened as of 10:10 p.m.
