BROCKVILLE – A 17-month investigation has led to charges for a city man after allegedly trying to lure a young girl on the internet.

Members of the O.P.P. Child Sexual Exploitation Unit and Grenville County O.P.P. moved in on Aug. 20, arresting a suspect as he went to a Prescott establishment.

Police say the suspect believed a 13-year-old girl was waiting there for him.

Arresting officers also seized a cell phone, which they say is pertinent to the investigation.

Charged with two counts of luring a child on the internet is Jason Ronald Link, 44, of Brockvillle.

He will appear for a bail hearing today (Friday) in a Brockville courtroom.

O.P.P. say the investigation is still open.
