Editor’s note: The thunderstorm watch has ended for Leeds-Grenville.
BROCKVILLE – Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Brockville and the Thousand Islands region.
The weather agency issued the alert around 11:30 a.m. Sunday and said conditions are favourable for dangerous thunderstorms as well as possibly producing damaging wind, hail and heavy downpours.
A cold front is moving through which will lead to unstable air, triggering thundershowers mostly Sunday afternoon.
The watch covers areas including Prescott, Gananoque, Mallorytown, Merrickville-Wolford, Kemptville, Westport and Charleston Lake.
We are expecting a high today of 30 but it feels like it’s nearly 40 with the humidity.
