Brockville police officers bitten during arrest

BROCKVILLE – A woman, wanted on outstanding warrants, is facing additional charges of assaulting police after a Saturday night scuffle.

City police say two of their officers spotted a 20-year-old, wanted on warrants in two municipalities for property crimes, in the downtown.

But when they went to make the arrest, the woman started fighting and kicked and bit the officers. She is also accused of kicking one of them in the groin.

In addition to the charges on the warrants, she is also facing charges of assaulting police with the intent to resist arrested.

He was held for a bail hearing today (May 14).

As for the officers, Sgt. Keith Fleury told Brockville Newswatch, they are both in good health and didn’t require medical attention. Both were back on duty Sunday night, he said.
