GANANOQUE – A funeral service is being held in Gananoque today for Gord Brown.

The MP for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes died last week after suffering a heart attack at his Parliament Hill office.

He was 57.

He is survived by his wife, Claudine, and his sons Chance and Tristan.

The funeral service is taking place at the Lou Jeffries Recreation Center in Gananoque at 11 a.m., followed by a graveside service at the Gananoque Cemetery.

A reception is being held from 2-4 p.m. at the Firehall Theater.

Part of Gord’s vision was a second ice pad near the Gananoque recreation center. A GoFundMe page has been collecting donations for the development of the second ice pad. The family is asking for donations to Gord’s vision in lieu of flowers.

You can find the donation page here.
