BROCKVILLE – City police had to call in the O.P.P. Explosive Disposal Unit last night (May 2) to a Brockville home after coming across various weapons – some military grade.

Police say they were dealing with a drug overdose at a home on Pearl Street around 9:45 p.m. when they found various squatters in the building.

But that wasn’t the only thing they found – several rounds of ammunition, gun powder, a firearm, air pistol, a stun gun, pepper spray and an “unknown military ordnance.”

That’s when the bomb squad was called in to dispose of the device.

Two squatters were arrested and charge with various weapons offences and drug possession.

As for the overdose victim, he was taken by paramedics to Brockville General Hospital for treatment.
