KINGSTON – The provincial government is giving Brockville General Hospital $1.74 million to address surgical wait times.

The announcement was made Friday in Kingston by a local MPP there, as she unveiled $11 million for Kingston and area hospitals.

The money will be used for additional procedures, in order to reduce wait times for hip, knee, cataract, shoulder, cornea and spine surgeries. Hospitals will have some say in where the money is used in their own facility.

Brockville General Hospital has started a multi-million dollar redevelopment project this month to merge the Garden and Charles Street sites on a single site on Charles Street.
