BROCKVILLE ā€“ A man from the Brockville area will be spending six months in jail after pleading guilty to a single count of possession of child pornography.

Terry James Dixon, 58, entered the plea in a Brockville courtroom last month (Jan. 9).

Dixon had been facing two counts ā€“ possession and distribution. The distribution charge was withdrawn by the Crown, according to court records.

After his six month jail sentence, Dixon will be on probation for 18 months.

He will also be on the national sex offender registry for 10 years and is not allowed to visit places where children frequent, such as parks and recreation areas, for 10 years.

In January 2017, after a six month investigation, members of the O.P.P. Child Exploitation Unit searched a home in Elizabethtown-Kitley Township and seized a number of electronic devices.

After examining those devices for child pornography, Dixon was arrested three months later.
