BROCKVILLE – A drug addict is getting treatment from medical staff after showing up at the Brockville police station, asking for help.

Police say the 44-year-old Brockville man came to the front desk around 8 p.m. Monday night and told them he had been using crystal meth and was suffering from mental health issues.

“He told officers at the front desk that he had very little sleep in the past week and was very emotional while speaking with staff at the front desk,” police said in a statement.

The Brockville Police Service say they called Leeds and Grenville EMS, who took the man to the Brockville General Hospital.

There’s no word on how the man is doing at this point.
