New Year’s Eve quiet for Brockville police

BROCKVILLE – New Year’s Eve was relatively quiet for Brockville police officers.

They responded to two separate calls – both complaints about domestic violence.

In one case, a 21-year-old man was arrested and later released after a local couple’s quarrel. However, police say there were no injuries observed.

The other was a New Year’s Eve party where a man fell and hit his head after being pushed. A man in his 20s was arrested and given a future court date.

Police said they were “pleased” to report they had no complaints about drunk drivers on the road during their patrols in the city.

Outside the city in Leeds-Grenville, activity from New Year’s Eve likely won’t be known until Tuesday. A spokesperson from East Region O.P.P. was unavailable due to the holiday.
