BROCKVILLE – Students at the Brockville campus of St. Lawrence College are planning a noon hour demonstration as a college strike drags on.
Spokesperson Kourtney Kelly told Brockville Newswatch it’s a peaceful demonstration as students will fill hallways and classrooms with “the power and dedication (of) the student voice.”
The demonstration starts at noon.
Meanwhile, faculty with OPSEU rejected the College Employer Council’s offer in a forced vote by the Ontario Labour Relations Board.
Before the results of the vote at 11:15 a.m., Kelly said they were going ahead with their demonstration because “many are speculating they (the faculty) will not vote to go back.”
The strike is into its fifth week.
